Family Law Paralegal

Cavanaugh Hamrick & McCarthy, a family law firm, located in SouthPark of Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time legal paralegal with a start date in February of 2026. We are a group of dedicated family law attorneys who provide full-spectrum, high-quality support. Essential job duties include client communication, organizing discovery and files, working with the firm’s attorneys to help prepare for hearings and trials, managing files, and the like. The firm utilizes a team-oriented approach to work and cases. We pride ourselves in a positive atmosphere and seek an employee that values teamwork and collaboration. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• 1+ year(s) of paralegal experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), comfort with technology and ability to learn programs/software

• Maintain composure in a high-pressure, fast paced environment

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to deal with different personalities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Manage multiple projects concurrently

• Strong organizational skills

• Positive and proactive attitude

• Maintain confidentiality dealing with sensitive information and client matters

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Clio

• Family law paralegal experience
