Experienced Family Law Attorney

Cavanaugh Hamrick & McCarthy, a family law firm, located in SouthPark of Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time experienced family law attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience with a start date of February of 2026. We are a group of dedicated family law attorneys who provide full-spectrum, high-quality support. The firm utilizes a team-oriented approach to work and cases. We pride ourselves in a positive atmosphere and seek an employee that values teamwork and collaboration. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support disputes

• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

• Advise clients on legal rights and obligations with professionalism and empathy

• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to ensure exceptional client outcomes

 Qualifications

• J.D.

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina

• 4+ years of family law experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), comfort with technology and ability to learn programs/software

• Maintain composure in a high-pressure, fast paced environment

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to deal with different personalities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
